These 12 TV Shows Were Described as “10/10 Would Recommend” by Fans

We all love a good TV show recommendation, but when it comes to reviews, it’s sometimes hard to figure out who to trust. With issues like review bombing and plain old difference of opinion, you can’t always trust critics. To help with your next TV show watching pick we grabbed the 12 most commonly listed TV shows rated “10/10 would recommend” by average folks.

Chernobyl

Chernobyl is a mini series created by HBO. If you skipped it when it came out it’s so worth watching. Since it was pre-planned as a short run, rather than a multi-season show, it tells the true story of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster flawlessly. It’s also chilling to the core.

“Even just the sound design. Those Geiger counters. Gives me the chills.” one commenter said. “It’s not 10/10. It’s 15,000.” another added.

Band of Brothers

This one often comes highly recommended and for very good reason. Another miniseries based on real events, Band of Brothers tells the true story Easy Company of the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division.

“I still get chills just thinking about Bastogne.” a fan replied to this suggestion.

Avatar the Last Airbender

Still popular even now, Avatar the Last Airbender is an animated series that has a large fan following. It might be a show made for kids – but plenty of adult fans hold this series in high regard too.

Derry Girls

Derry Girls is the best show you’ve probably never heard of. Set in Ireland during The Troubles this “teen” drama is anything but childish. A great option for a variety of ages or to watch with your older kids!

What We Do in the Shadows

Something totally different than anything you’ve ever seen! What We Do in the Shadows is a mockumentary featuring four vampires that have been living together for hundreds of years. So funny and so good!

“‘What We Do in the Shadows’ is legitimately one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. I could watch it over and over.” one fan praised.

True Detective

Still airing, True Detective is an HBO crime drama. What sets it apart is that each season is self-contained with its own cast – which means when most people reference this show, they’re talking about season 1. Depending on how you like it you can stop there or keep going.

Praise for the show included: “I think McConaughey’s performance is the best TV acting I’ve ever seen.”

Futurama

It’s pretty hard not to enjoy Futurama, at least a little. The characters are great and pretty much every episode has something funny going on. Personally I prefer Hypnotoad’s show, ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD.

Malcolm in the Middle

If for some reason you’ve never caught an episode of Malcolm in the Middle, I can honestly say you’re missing out. On the surface, it looks like a family sitcom, but it’s so much deeper. And who doesn’t love Bryan Cranston?

The person who suggested this one added, “It’s hilarious and not really a kid show.” and thousands of folks agreed.

IT Crowd

If you’ve ever worked in tech this show feels way too real. So funny and absolutely ridiculous in its storylines, IT Crowd is one of those shows you can rewatch and still enjoy again and again.

Ted Lasso

Love Ted Lasso personally and am glad to see other folks hyping up this amazing show. It starts off absurdly funny but eventually moves to more serious character development with a focus on positive mental health. Most importantly for the 10/10, would recommend rating, it ended at just the right time.

Better Call Saul

Breaking Bad also came up, of course, but folks are praising Better Call Saul specifically. If you enjoyed Breaking Bad, then you definitely should check this series out – it keeps the same level of quality.

Arrested Development

Specifically, the original run of the show, not the reboot (a sentiment I completely agree with). Every episode of Arrested Development is hilarious and, believe it or not, there is a plot worth seeing play out.
