Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is gracing our screens soon, and we could not be more excited! The Bridgerton prequel will follow the story of Queen Charlotte’s rise to power and how she became the social powerhouse she is now.
Past and Present
The show will show the “origin story” of some of our favorite Bridegrton characters. We will get the opportunity to see them as young people navigating society, love, and life before they become the people we know in Bridgerton.

Queen Charlotte
Beginning with the Queen herself, of course! Queen Charlotte is played by Golda Rosheuvel.
Young Queen Charlotte
India Ria Amarteifio plays the young Queen Charlotte.
King George
The Queen’s husband, shown as an old man struggling with mental illness in Bridgerton, is played by James Fleet.
Young King George
Corey Mylchreest plays young Kind George. Corey says he sees his tragic ending as a “Romeo and Juliet love story,” where you know the ending is sad, but it is still the greatest love story of all time.
Lady Danbury
Powerhouse Adjoa Andoh plays the iconic Lady Danbury.
Agatha Danbury
Young Lady Danbury, when she was much younger, married but still feisty, is played by Arsema Thomas
Lady Violet Bridgerton
The matriarch of the Birdgerton household plays a much smaller role in the Queen Charlotte story but will be present nonetheless. She is played by Ruth Gemmel.
Young Violet Ledger
The young Violet, before she met Viscount Bridgerton, is played by Connie Jenkins-Greig.
Brimsley
The Queen’s devoted majordomo is always by her side and has been since she arrived at court as a young bride. Hugh Sachs plays Brimsley.
Young Brimsley
Brimsely is exactly where he always is, next to the Queen, as Young Brimsley, played by Sam Clemmet.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story airs on Netflix on May 4th, 2023. The six-part series is centered on Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power. This Bridgerton-verse prequel tells the story of how the young Queen’s marriage to King George sparked both a great love story and a societal shift, creating the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.
