Netflix announced today that Benedict Bridgerton will be the next Bridegrton sibling on the Marriage Mart.
Benedict has been a fan favorite of the steamy Netflix shows, in part because of his own steamy scenes where he explores his sexuality outside the regular society he finds himself born in.
The Announcement
In a clip posted on Twitter, Netflix said, “It has been brought to this author’s attention that perhaps it is time to unmask the newest suitor of the marriage mart… Benedict Bridgerton‘s story is coming next season.”
The clip teased the gossip as they showed various clips of Benedict.
The last few seconds showed Luke Thompson, who has played Benedict in the past three seasons, in modern-day clothing, opening the door to accept a suit. “I already have a suit,” he says, to which someone responds, “This one is for the masquerade Ball.”
In the book, an offer from a gentleman, Benedict, meets a masked lady at his mother’s masquerade ball. What follows is a classic Cinderella story in which Benedict searches for the lady in silver for a few years before meeting and falling in love with a maid named Sophie.
Bridgerton teased the Masquerade Ball in the last few moments of Season 3 when Eloise tells Benedict that she will not miss their mother’s masquerade ball despite going to Scotland with her newly married sister, Francesca.
Briudgerton season 4 is not expected to be released until 2026.
