As a frugal blogger, I don’t like buying gifts for the sake of gifts. I obviously don’t like spending money, and I try to live a life that espouses both minimalistic and anti-consumerism ideals (it’s a work in progress).
That being said, I do buy my kids gifts for the Holidays, and I do sometimes even spend money on those gifts (gasp!).
There are lots of ways to save money on gifts, and you can read more about how I decide what kind of gifts to spend money on, but the gist of it is: I spend money on things my kids need and toys and activities that will be long-lasting, educational, bring joy, and encourage play and creativity.
So without further ado, here are my top gifts for 2025.

Milestones and More Box
Babies are hard to shop for, but this Milestones and More subscription is a great gift for anyone who has a baby or for their own baby. Milestones & More is a nonprofit-backed initiative that supports early childhood development through bilingual play kits for children ages 0–6. Each themed kit includes engaging toys, books, and hands-on activities designed to help little ones reach key developmental milestones through play.
My baby is getting one this year.
Nugget Couch
We have this couch for our kids, and we love it. It was a gift we bought last year, and it has held up beautifully. It’s great for kids to have open-ended play and a great place for them to relax and read books. I cannot recommend it enough. This is the type of present I’m willing to spend money on since the kids use it literally every day.
Magnetic Tiles
I love magnetic tiles because they are a great toy for all ages. They are also easy to play with and easy to keep clean. Kids as young as one can play with them, and my older kids still build things with them all the time. I’ve been known to build a thing or two myself. We have a few sets, and the extra packs always make a great gift because they encourage them to play with all of them anew.
Spaceship Swing
We just got this swing, and I love it. It’s big enough for two kids to go into it, and they spend hours playing outdoors, which I love. I don’t mind spending money on toys that will encourage my kids to go outside and play.
Books
I always buy my kids a book as a present and encourage their grandparents to do the same. My kids are super into fantasy at the moment, so I put together a list of books that are great for kids who like fantasy. Of course, any book your kid likes is a good idea. Kids need books!
