Donald Trump has dragged many people down a bad path with him, landing many of his cronies, colleagues, and underlings into legal trouble with him. Unfortunately for them, it seems their loyalty to him isn’t being repaid.
Even his own children are being thrown under the bus while Trump looks to save his skin.
Eric Trump
Michael Cohen, Trump’s former lawyer, called out the former president on Twitter (X), saying, “This includes throwing his own kids under the bus. The Donald deposition recently released does that to his son.”
He was referring to a deposition that was released where Trump said, “My son Eric is much more involved with it than I am. I’ve been doing other things. And I guess you could say on something major, final decisions, whatever. But I’ve been much less involved in it than—over the last five years, five or six years than ever before.”
By distancing himself from the decisions that were made during the time that is being investigated and referring to his son, Trump is setting up his son to take the fall.
Agreement
Many people on Twitter (X) agreed with Cohen’s assessment.
One person wrote, “Like you, who knows first hand, I’ve been saying all along that this guy Trump would most definitely send his own kids to prison to keep himself from going to prison, even for crimes he knows that he committed and they were innocent of. He’s ‘that guy’, and it’s obvious to me.”
Another added, “That’s one of the “Trump” party’s values, isn’t it? Family values. In the Trump “family”, Eric has value….as a scapegoat, a fall guy, so will Jr and Ivanka. That’s how family values work in the Trump “family.”
Jenna Ellis
Jenna Ellis, another one of Trump’s former lawyers, has also been indicted in the election interference case in Georgia. She has taken to crowdfunding for her mounting legal fees. She took to Twitter (X) to complain, “I was reliably informed Trump isn’t funding any of us who are indicted.”
She continued, “I totally agree this has become a bigger principle than just one man. So why isn’t MAGA, Inc. funding everyone’s defense?”
All His Lawyers
When one person commented on her post, writing, “He absolutely should help fund your legal defense.”
She replied, “He should, yes. Not just mine, but all his lawyers.”
Trouble for Trump
Trump may be trying to distance himself from his team and trying to set up some fall guys, but this might turn into trouble for Trump, especially as people like Ellis realize that their loyalty isn’t being repaid. They might decide to turn the tables, turn on Trump, and set him up as the fall guy for their own crimes.
