A Deal is only a deal if you can afford it

Black Friday and Cyber Monday at Walmart

Sharing is caring!

I remember my parents buying the newspaper before Black Friday and waking up at 5 am to be able to get us toys and other things we needed. One year my sister and I got a Razor Scooter (remember when those were a new thing!?) thanks to a 5 am Walmart trip. They probably would not have been able to afford it had it not been for that sale. They were all the rage back then and “everyone” had one! We were so thrilled and could barely wait for Hanukkah when it was gifted to us.

There is something about Black Friday shopping at Walmart. I remember once going with friends late at night to stand in line and go shopping at Walmart just for fun. There was a festivity in the air that made it fun.

This year, Black Friday 2020 is going to be a little bit different. In-store shopping doesn’t really hold the appeal that it did last year. Money is a little tighter. We are more worried about the future. Any shopping I do will probably be online on either Black Friday or Cyber Monday depending on when I find the best coupons and sales.

Slickdeals has a great page for just Walmart coupon codes and discounts so I will be checking there to see what deals there are to be had. They will have the ads and promo codes for Walmart Black Friday Deals.

The only big purchase I am looking for this year may be a computer if I find one deeply discounted enough. My laptop is really terrible and it makes it very hard to blog with a bad laptop! I do my blog on a dime, just like everything else in my life, so I haven’t upgraded to a better laptop. If there is one deeply discounted enough than I may buy one. I will be checking Slickdeals throughout the day to see if there are any good laptop deals!

I also like to do my gift shopping on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. We don’t do big presents here. Just something nice on one night of Chanukah but I like to get one toy or book for the kids. It really depends on what is on sale and what I can find for cheap. Thank goodness they are still young enough to be happy with almost everything!

Walmart also sometimes has good clothing deals so if there is anything super cheap then I will stock up. Think socks, underwear, undershirts, pajamas etc. Last year, I got some hats and gloves from their door-busters so we are good on that front! You don’t have to spend a lot to have it last. The cheap stuff sometimes lasts just as long as the expensive stuff.

Are you planning on doing any Black Friday or Cyber Monday shopping? Are you planning on doing more online shopping because of Covid?
